"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"
We receive questions from potential patients who visit our Lenexa location for aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin for his advice to patients who may have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatment. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. I know that people want to look their best. Everybody wants to feel and look their best. BOTOX may temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles, but these treatments cannot make people look as good or famous as they did in college. What can Aesthetic Injectable Treatments do? Dr. Margolin compares the process of aging skin to folding a piece paper. Permanent creases can be created by folding a piece a paper repeatedly over many decades. This is what happens when we touch our skin. By temporarily reducing wrinkles and filling certain areas, injectable treatments such as JUVEDERM and BOTOX can reduce the signs of aging. What is BOTOX and How Does It Work? This treatment reduces wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles. However, it's not as dramatic or as drastic as plastic surgeons. BOTOX can be helpful for patients who have forehead or eyebrow lines. BOTOX can soften lines and prevent them from creasing your face. BOTOX cannot reduce wrinkles and lines caused by facial hollowness loss. We use JUVEDERM dermal fillers to address these issues. What is JUVEDERM? Both therapies have the same goals, but they have different active components. These injections are administered by a medical professional to patients. or an experienced medical aesthetician. You can maintain your results by receiving additional treatments. Juvederm filler shots can sometimes be seen right away, depending on the manufacturer. BOTOX injections (like Juvederm) are quick and painless. The larger the area to be treated, the more you will need. Multiple injections can take a little longer to complete. Juvederm injections are often visible immediately. One-to two years is the average time that Juvederm injections will be effective. However, results may vary from one person to another.
