Patching a Hole in Drywall from shaaazy's blog

Holes in drywall can be caused by everything from doorknobs to errant furniture. Fortunately, patching them is a relatively easy task. Start by cleaning the area around the hole and removing any loose debris. Then, cut a patch of drywall slightly larger than the hole and insert it into the hole. Secure the patch with drywall tape and joint compound, and then sand the area smoothly.
