American Airlines accepts children as young as two days old. If you are traveling with a baby less than 7 days old, your doctor will need to fill out a passenger health form. Children must be accompanied by an adult 16 years of age or older. Children under the age of 2 must be accompanied by an adult 16 years of age or older. All wide-body aircraft are equipped with a toilet that can accommodate a changing table.

Basic Economy customers are allowed to carry 1 personal item. Items must be small enough to fit under the seat. Product dimensions cannot exceed 18x14x8 inches (45x35x20 cm). All other bags must also be registered. Each passenger can take 1 piece of luggage.

The maximum carry-on weight cannot exceed:

22 x 14 x 9 inches / 56 x 36 x 23 cm x 23 cm with handles

Luggage dimensions must match airport baggage dimensions.
