Road Trip from New York, New York to Seattle, Washington from katy swift's blog

Points to think about/Logistics:

Timeline: 7 days, from August 31, 2016, to September 9, 2016.

Rent a car in New York, then take a flight from Seattle.

There are two drivers.

Get directions: mapquest directions

Driving time: Aim for 8 to 10 hours of driving per day.

Stay in each place for at least two full days each [perhaps Chicago and one full day at a national park, but I haven't determined which one]. The Badlands and Yellowstone are up for debate. Have any suggestions?

Over the following five days of primarily driving, we would like to make stops in Cleveland, Chicago (for a full day), and (what are some nice sites to visit in between). Last but not least, suggestions? Seattle, Washington; the Badlands, South Dakota; or Yellowstone, Wyoming (perhaps a full day) (maybe full day).

I'm hoping to hear from you shortly. We appreciate any recommendations, ideas, or guidance.
