IGVault Ways: How to Making WoW Classic Gold with Fishing from wowclassicgoldigvault's blog

Fishing is one of the secondary professions that no one really thinks about, but it’s vital in supporting the other professions. Certain fish are used to make oils, which have a variety of uses in crafting gear, enchants, and potions or flasks. Other things can be fished up, such as clams or trunks from wreckage pools, which can contain valuable materials.

Farming Stonescale Eels

Stonescale Eels are the cream of the crop, so we’ll start with that first. Stonescale Eels are used for end-game flasks crafted by alchemists and as such have a constant, high demand on the auction house. Depending on your server economy, Stonescale Eels can sell for upwards of 1g per eel. In order to catch Stonescale Eel, you’ll need at least 205 fishing skill, which can be achieved as low as level 20.

Go to Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris and fish the shoreline/dock in this area. Don’t free fish! You want to fish directly from pools. Run up and down the coast and check for any Stonescale Eel pools. If you see one, immediately fish it out. If you don’t see any, fish the nearest Oily Blackmouth pool and then repeat. Once you’ve gathered a bunch of Stonescale Eels, list them on the auction house to reap the rewards.

Following this strategy, it’s easily possible to farm enough gold for your level 40 mount in just one day.

Oily Blackmouth

Fishing level: either 1 minimum, 75 no “get aways”

Oily Blackmouth makes Blackmouth Oil, which is very useful for getting past skill bottlenecks and leveling Alchemy. It’s used in three Alchemy recipes — Elixir of Water Breathing, Swim Speed Potion, Free Action Potion — and can be used to increase your Fishing skill via Enchant Gloves – Fishing.

It’s located in coastal areas of most level 10-40 zones and can also be found inland in others. The best places to go are Darkshore, Westfall, Loch Modan, Silverpine Forest, and The Barrens. Note that some higher-level zones also contain Oily Blackmouth, but they’ll also require higher Fishing to guarantee catches. For this reason, it’s better to stick to the lower-level zones when farming these.

  1. Farming Deviate Fish

Deviate Fish can be a fun alternative way to make some gold from fishing and can be fished as low as fishing skill 1. Deviate Fish can only be fished from the Wailing Caverns in The Barrens. Due to their location, it’s a lot easier for Horde to farm them than Alliance, but will demand a higher price on the Alliance auction house for the same reason. Deviate Fish can be cooked into Savory Deviate Delight, which provides fun buffs (like turning you into a skeleton or a pirate). The uncooked Deviate Fish can sell for over 25 silver a piece on the auction house.

Hopefully this guide helps you to make some of that sweet WOW Classic Gold .
