NBA 2K23 announced today that DeMar DeRozan will check in 2K23 MT at 89 overall and Zach LaVine will enter the season with an 88. The ranking is a pretty significant improvement for DeRozan after finishing last year at only 85. For LaVine however, he has only moved one spot up from NBA 2K22's 87.While I'm sure both players are capable of reaching the 90s milestone the 88 and an 89 would put the players in fairly good company.
In this instance, DeRozan is placed ahead of Rudy Gobert and just two places further behind Devin Booker. LaVine has a higher ranking than players like Zion Williamson and Jaylen Brown.One factor that LaVine also has in his favor is a top spot on the dunking charts. LaVine's score of 95 puts him ahead of just Ja Morant as well as Zion Williamson as one of the top slammers in the league.
The rest of the Bulls' roster has yet to be confirmed, however, 2KRatings.com has an unofficial list that is worth checking out. The team behind DeRozan and LaVine - to no surprise - is an 83-overall Nikola Vucevic, followed by Lonzo Ball with an 82 and Andre Drummond with a somewhat shocking 81.
The most sombre ranking is due to the player with most likely the highest expectations. Right now, Patrick Williams is only listed at a 74. which ties him with Goran Dragic and Derrick Jones Jr. yet ranks him below ... Toby Bradley! ?
Fortunately when the game is released on September 9th all these numbers are susceptible to fluctuation. The game's update will depend on the player's performance over the course of the season, and I look forward to seeing everyone on this Bulls team progress up the leaderboards by the end of October (those aren't unreasonable expectations, right? )!
